Grandparents play a unique and meaningful role in the lives of their grandchildren. When a grandchild is neurodivergent—whether they have autism, ADHD, learning differences, social communication challenges, or other developmental differences—grandparents often find themselves looking for information, guidance, and ways to provide the best possible support.
Connections, Conversation & Coffee was created to provide a welcoming space where grandparents can come together, share experiences, learn from one another, and build a supportive community.
This monthly group offers grandparents an opportunity to connect with others who understand the joys and challenges of supporting a neurodivergent grandchild. Through open conversations, guest speakers, and shared resources, participants explore topics that matter most to families today.
Discussions may include understanding neurodiversity, supporting grandchildren’s social and emotional growth, navigating family relationships, communicating effectively with adult children, and finding resources within the community. Each gathering provides practical information along with the comfort of knowing that no grandparent has to navigate this journey alone.
At the heart of Connections, Conversation & Coffee is the belief that informed and supported grandparents can make an even greater impact in their grandchildren’s lives. Grandparents bring wisdom, patience, love, and a lifetime of experiences—and when they are connected with the right tools and resources, they become powerful advocates and sources of encouragement.
The group welcomes grandparents at every stage of their journey. Whether you are newly learning about your grandchild’s diagnosis, have been supporting your family for years, or simply want to meet others who share similar experiences, you are invited to join this warm and supportive community. The conversations will take place at the Nina Iser JCC at 10 am on November 6.
So, come enjoy a cup of coffee, meaningful conversation, and the opportunity to create new connections.
Come for the coffee. Stay for the connections. Leave feeling informed, encouraged, and empowered.
